Flowers bisexual, zygomorphic, hypogynous, bilabiate. Sepals 5, connate. Petals 5, connate, corolla bilaterally symmetric, bilabiate, funnelform. Stamens 4, didynamous, adnate to corolla proximally; staminodes absent. Carpels 2, syncarpous; ovary superior, 2-locular, many ovules per loculus, placentation axile; style 1; stigma 1. Fruit capsule, dehiscence loculicidal. Seeds several, brown, ellipsoid, embryo straight, endosperm present.
